I have had  a revelation of love.

Love wins. Always. It trumphs, it prevails, it dances, it sings, it laughs. It crushes and destroys everything that is contrary to God. Love brings beauty in the midst of all that is ugly. Love overcomes evil. Love brings hope to the most dismel times. Love can melt a heart of stone. Love can break down barriers. Love endures, love heals; it brings peace, it forgives. Love ignights. Love frees and conquors. Love calls to action.

The other night I heard something that expanded my revelation of love, “The devil is doing everything he can to destroy the image of God”. To give a visual, it is as if we are all sculptures, and we all hold chisels in our hands. Anytime we allow bitterness, hatrid, harsh and rash words, annoyance to overtake us, jealousy (etc) into our hearts and live with those, we chip away at one another with our chisels… thus deminishing the image of the Father in those around us.

I ask you, why is love so important? Why does the Word challenge us to above all put on love which binds things together? I can testify that without love I am nothing. Because when we do not love, we chip away at the image of God; we allow ourselves to deminish and hurt others. We are ruining one another.

When we allow selfishness, and we get lazy in out hearts, attitudes and actions towards one another we break the work of the Father. But if we live and walk in a love that is so strong and takes our everything and makes us ache, we can do the work of the kingdom and we can love those we considered our enemies. We can see the borkenhearted mended. Love covers all… love conquors all.

We live in a world of hatrid and brokenness. Our every moments are full of opportunities to love those around us. I want to be a person of love. I see so much hurt here in Jeffrey’s Baai. People are living dead; their told they are of no value, there is no hope for their future. The rich hide in fear and in prejudice and are thought of as all the same, the poor are told that they have no future, the boys on the streets are branded as hopeless and the missionaries are told that nothing they do matters. We are deminishing eachother. LOVE. Love, Christ’s real, true and pure love will set us free. Free from racism, free from division, free from hatrid, free from bondage, free from hopelessness, free from our riches, free from poverty, free from addiction, free from judgement, free from hashness, free from gossip, free from lust, free from death.

I have been challenged and dared to live out love. It’s hard. It is a fight of the flesh. But there is NO other way. heart don’t change from, discipline, government, programs, boycotting, being nice, getting on peoples ‘good side’, speaking out… it changes from the true, active, life-giving love of Christ. I wish I could with my words do this revelation justice. I will fight to live out a life of love. Fight with me?

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” -Mother Teresa
