Am I really about to live out my dream?

“Here am I. send me!” I remember praying this verse so many times with an ache for adventure in my heart and Africa on my mind. I can’t believe that within less than two months I’ll be living out my dream.

I feel like the summer is flying by and like God is preparing my heart for the things to come. I am trying to learn to live in the moment and to make every second count, but I admit it’s hard to focus when I know that a great adventure is just around the corner.

This summer God has refreshed in my spirit the importance and the power of prayer. He has used many people to speak encouragement, challenge and wisdom into my life. I have had the opportunity to go on a weeklong mission trip called OGN (Operation Good News) where we went out on the beaches of San Diego to do street evangelism. God used that week to rekindle in me and urgency for reaching those who are broken. During that week I saw God answer prayers and bring light to those who were in darkness. I’ve seen how God can work in just one week; I am becoming increasingly excited to see what He will do with nine months!

I am convinced that I am headed exactly where God wants me. My heart grows more excited every day, I can hardly think of anything else. There is a great peace in knowing that you are right where God wants you; there is great joy in giving your dreams to God and seeing what He does with them.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and encouragement they have been a great joy and blessing in my life. God is using you in my life in ways that you’ll never know. I am so thankful for all of you.

Please continue to pray for my team and I as we continue to prepare for Africa. Pray that God would continue to grow us and that He will stir in our hearts His passion for the people of South Africa. Pray that we would make the most of our time at home and that we would be able to make every moment count. Pray that seeking Him would become our very breath and that we will stay focused on Jesus.
